Both the PixiCam and the PixiTab hardware allow for wall-mounting. Many of our clients have Pixi devices permanently installed in their arenas, coworking spaces and venues to help them build visitor email lists and create user-generated content to be shared on social media.

Of course! Users can enter up to five phone numbers per photo session.

The associated text message that accompanies the user’s photo is a great place to promote a hashtag, ask for shares, link to a landing page, or even offer a coupon code.

The PixiCloud photo booth software was absolutely built with photo booth business owners and operators in mind. The inspiration for PixiCloud came from operating our own event photo booth rental company, Pixilated. Over seven years we’ve built a business with a fleet of two dozen photo booths that serve everything from Weddings to Tough Mudders using many of the same tools used by the photo booth industry.

The final push that led us to create PixiCloud was finding the software options that were available on the market underwhelming and the extreme amount of manual labor in pre and post prep for a fleet of 24 booths. Also, our business had slowly trended to working with more brands on a national scale and we needed access to develop custom features as well as an ability to scale our services.

We’ve developed PixiCloud with all of the insights gained from operating thousands of events on multiple software platforms over seven years. Our aim is to continue to build the best photo booth software platform that allows for affordable hardware options, supports both device cameras and professional cameras, and has a cloud-based event management system allowing for controlling an entire fleet of photo booths from one location.

The PixiCloud photo booth software has a monthly subscription pricing structure, as opposed to a one-time fee, to allow us to continuously develop the software and release new features we’re building as they’re ready. This type of software product billing is called a SaaS aka Software as a Service.

Traditional, one-time purchase software relies on pushing a new version of the software every 12-18 months and charging a fee to access the new features. Not only is that development schedule too slow for what we have in mind for PixiCloud but it also doesn’t allow for quick, agile developments to address issues in the software and take advantage of opportunities when they arise. In short, the PixiCloud subscription model allows us to continuously make the product better for you, our customers.

How do I set up an event on the photo booth software?2018-08-08T16:09:39+00:00

Event set up for your devices is handled directly through your PixiCloud portal. See below for step-by-step instructions.

  1. Log In to your PixiCloud account by navigating your web browser to www.portal.pixi.cloud
  2. Once logged in to your account, navigate to the Events tab in the menu.
  3. Click the green +Create button to create a new event.
  4. The first step is uploading your Billboards by clicking the Arrow button in each available window (1-6) and selecting your file.
  5. Set the billboard rotation timer at the bottom of the screen.
  6. The next step is uploading your Overlays by choosing the Overlay tab next to Billboards tab and clicking the Arrow button in each available window (1-6) and selecting your file.
  7. The next step is setting up your event messaging by choosing the Messaging tab next to Overlays tab, checking the appropriate boxes to enable Email or SMS and crafting your messages subject and body.
  8. The last step is pressing the Save button at the bottom of the screen.

PixiCloud allows for email and/or SMS capture for any event. A user can access and export the data captured by their Pixi kiosk through their online portal at portal.pixi.cloud. Pro and Enterprise account levels also have access to use our MailChimp integration.

Overlays are customizable filters and borders that can be added to photos instantly using a swiping gesture on the screen — just like Snapchat or Instagram.

PixiCloud allows you to load up to six Overlays per event.

Billboards are the brandable start screens to display calls-to-action or advertisements — for example “Tap To Take Photo”.

PixiCloud allows you to load up to six Billboards per event and set the timing of the transitions between each attract screen.

What Android tablets do you recommend for your photo booth app?2018-08-08T16:10:52+00:00

We recommend using the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1″ or the Huawei Mediapad M3 Lite 10. Both of these tablets feature Wi-Fi Direct which is necessary for our Sony camera integration. Any Android tablet with Wi-Fi Direct and Android 7 or newer should work.

However, if you plan to use the tablet internal camera, Wi-Fi Direct is not a necessary feature. We suggest the Huawei Mediapad M3 Lite 10. It features an 8MP front facing camera and can take great photos in sufficiently lit areas.
